Is this is sharpened using a filter, though? It's a tiny bit too harsh in small details, as if there was too much sharpening.

Small explanation about my sharpnes experiments... In few shot i was start little experiment wits sharpening photos. i wont balancing my own style and very characteristic of me portrait style... as well i will be try join soft and sharp, detailed and uniform textures...

It has a natural tension in it - his hand position, his facial expresion - yet it also has such excellent texture too!
